Manchester United Football Club has always been at the footballing forefront when it comes to nurturing and developing young players.
It wasn’t too long ago when a certain Anthony Martial was considered amongst the best talents in the world, but then Jose Mourinho happened and things went sideways pretty quickly…
Well, it definitely seems as though Martial is a firm favourite of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s with the Baby Faced Assassin predicting the 23-year-old can become world-class, while also hailing Martial’s ‘spot on’ attitude.
“Anthony can be a world-class forward.” Solskjaer is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror. “I think if you followed Anthony the way he has come back to pre-season, his attitude is spot on.”
“I think he has always got the quality and talent, so I expect him, and Marcus (Rashford), to be even better than last season.
“Anthony had a top season when he came, I expect we will see a better Anthony next season.”
It’s easy to forget just how brilliant Martial’s debut season was. That goal against Liverpool, the coolness when bearing down on the net, the perfect body language and exemplary mannerisms. That all went backwards (understandably) under the defensive Mourinho. Thankfully, it looks as though Martial is back on the right track.
With Romelu Lukaku’s future still up in the air, perhaps this is the perfect opportunity to use Martial through the middle in tandem with Rashford. The pair are both young and hungry, while having an excellent on-field relationship. These two can help shepherd in the new era at Old Trafford.
After signing a new contract midway through the 2018/19 campaign, Martial’s United future is secure. He’ll get the perfect platform to prove his worth and I’m tipping that the 2019/20 will be the best year in his career so far.
