Manchester United’s 2019 tour has started with two pretty convincing victories. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is slowly but surely implementing a new high-pressing system, and it’s working well.
That said, the Red Devils will now step it up a notch in terms of quality of the opposition. Next up is a potentially tough game against Inter Milan in the International Champions Trophy opener.
Again, we’re fully expecting the Baby Faced Assassin to go with an exciting and youthful line-up, with the complete XI set to be changed at half-time so the fans will once again get a good look at everyone…
David de Gea was ill so he missed the game against Leeds United on Wednesday, but he should be fit and ready to go for this one.
In front of him, Diogo Dalot will start at right-back while Ashley Young will play as the left-back. Solskjaer won’t want to risk Luke Shaw just yet. Victor Lindelof is now United’s best centre-half. He’ll play alongside Axel Tuanzebe and this will be an excellent opportunity for the youngster to test himself against the very best.
Nemanja Matic has looked a little leggy during the tour so far. Hopefully, he’ll perform better here. Paul Pogba on the other hand, has been exemplary. I’m fully expecting another great display from him, while Angel Gomes will sit just in front of these two in the #10 role.
Jesse Lingard will start on the right with Daniel James playing over on the left. Marcus Rashford has scored two in two, he’ll lead the line. No doubt Romelu Lukaku’s absence will continue to raise question marks about his future…
