Manchester United Football Club will be feeling fit and fresh on the back of their winter break – and it couldn’t have come at a better time for the Red Devils either..
It has given Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a fortnight to get Bruno Fernandes further integrated into the squad, while allowing the likes of Scott McTominay and Axel Tuanzebe time to recover from their respective injuries. Then you have Odion Ighalo, who has been afforded the luxury of some training before being thrust straight in at the deep end.
Anyway, trips to Chelsea are rarely positive for United, though this weekend, the Baby Faced Assassin has a major opportunity to drag his team back into the hunt for a place in the Champions League.
With that in mind, let’s delve right into our predicted Man United XI vs the Blues, with Ighalo and McTominay only likely for places on the bench.
Check out our predicted Man United XI in full here:
David de Gea does start in goal for this one. No doubt he’ll have to be at is best as Tammy Abraham and co. aren’t going to give him an easy ride.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka will get the nod at right-back, while Brandon Williams has done enough to start ahead of Luke Shaw. The centre-back pairing of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof pretty much picks itself.
Nemanja Matic is fresh from his suspension and he’ll start in the defensive-midfield position against his old club. The ever-improving Fred will be involved, while Bruno Fernandes starts his first away game.
Anthony Martial leads the line and we’ll need to see some improvement from the Frenchman. Daniel James starts over on the left-wing with Jesse Lingard operating from the right-flank.
