For Manchester United, they’re lucky that a place in next season’s Champions League is still up for grabs. Nobody wants to take that fourth-spot by the scruff of its neck, it seems.
The Red Devils have won just two from their last eight but they’d give themselves a great chance at securing a European berth by winning their final three. That’s easier said than done, of course…
Tomorrow, Chelsea visit Old Trafford. This is a must-win if there ever was one. Our London rivals are three points in front with a better goal difference. We have to win here. With that in mind, let’s take a look at our predicted starting line-up.
Despite recent errors, David de Gea will continue. We need to see a much-improved performance from the 28-year-old, hopefully, we’ll get one.
Matteo Darmian was okay given the circumstances against City, he deserves to play over a struggling Ashley Young. The rest of the back four is the same. Luke Shaw starts at left-back while Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling continue to play at the heart of our defence.
Nemanja Matic will start in that holding midfield role, with the timely return of Ander Herrera. We’ve missed the Basque’s energy, guile and passion. Paul Pogba has to step up. There is no two-ways about it.
Alexis Sanchez’s injury struggles have been well documented. I’d throw him into the team here, though, we need some attacking help as we’ve looked toothless at times. Marcus Rashford starts, as does Romelu Lukaku.
