Anyway, it seems as though one man has already thrown his name into the mix should the Baby Faced Assassin lose his job; Max Allegri.

The story comes from The Transfer Window Podcast, via The Metro. They’re claiming that the 52-year-old is ‘very interested’ in the United job and he views the Old Trafford club as the ideal ‘big fish’ to make his return to management with…

Apparently, Allegri is learning English and he’s looking for a job outside his homeland of Italy. Furthermore, he views United as a very attractive proposition and would be willing to step in to replace Solskjaer in the Reds dugout.

Furthermore, Allegri is looking for a club where he can win both national and continental titles. Although he knows United are some way off that, the ‘allure’ of managing one of the biggest, most affluent clubs in the world would be too good to turn down.

In terms of stature within the global game, Allegri has a far greater reputation than Solskjaer. However, is a pragmatic Italian coach what United need at this point in time? For me, probably not…
