The Inter winger has been the subject of major transfer interest in recent months after a sublime World Cup with Croatia.
Manchester United have chased Perisic for a number of months to no avail.
But it now appears Arsenal want the Inter star as they search for attacking reinforcements this month.
And both Premier League outfits have been handed a timely boost, according to reports in Italy that suggest Perisic has told Inter he wants to leave.
CalcioMercato report that the 29-year-old has informed manager Luciano Spalletti of his intentions.
Perisic has admitted of his dream to play in the Premier League.
Speaking today, Spalletti said: “We are talking about Perisic because he has interest from other teams and everyone would like to have him on his team.
“If anyone is interested in him, then they must pay the adequate sum.”
BBC journalist David Ornstein was the first to break the Perisic news on Saturday.
And he suggested Arsenal may make more signings before the end of the month.
“Arsenal have made an approach to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic,” he said on Twitter.
“#AFC want loan with £35m option to buy. 29yo open to #Inter exit.
“Fits plan of versatile midfielder e.g. Suarez (still possible) / Nkunku + winger.
“Unclear if injuries mean defender wanted but Sokratis not bad.”
Speaking last night, Unai Emery said: “Our injuries changed our possibility to do something different.
“When we were 2-1 down we had chances to draw but we didn’t score.
“Sokratis hurt his ankle – I hope not a lot.
“Koscielny is different. It was maybe a break. I hope not but he’s going to the hospital and we’re going to wait.
“We are taking a lot of big injuries, like Hector Bellerin.
“We played a team in a good moment. We lost this match but I’m happy with our work.”
