For Manchester United, all that’s on the mind is overturning a 1-0 deficit and beating FC Barcelona for a spot in the Champions League last four.
However, it seems as though our opponents have one eye on signing a current Red Devil; Marcus Rashford. The report comes from the Daily Mirror in an exclusive, who say that the Catalan giants want to sign the Wythenshawe-born-attacker in a stunning £100million deal.
Apparently, Barca have identified Rashford as their top transfer target going into the summer, with the club keen to capitalise on a lack of progression in contract talks between the Red Devils and the forward.
It’s easy to see why Barca are keen on acquiring the young Mancunian. He has been in stunning form since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge, although an ongoing injury seems to be niggling away at him over recent weeks.
We’re talking about a young man who has ice in his veins. The coolness and calmness with which he plays means he could probably start for most teams in the world, and it is concerning that with just twelve months left on his current deal, United are yet to tie him down to a new long-term contract.
Hopefully, though, the fact that he’s Manc born and bred plays into our hands and eventually I’m feeling confident that he will put pen to paper.
