Manchester United player improvement has been pretty evident under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Not bad for someone who is ‘just a PE teacher’ eh?
Credit where it’s due, the Baby Faced Assassin is doing an outstanding job. Players want to perform for him – which is super-important in regards to any potential success you wish to have.
Right now, this feels like a side on the up. Everyone is pulling together and playing well, that was until play was stopped due to the global pandemic which is disrupting daily life for practically everyone in the world right now…
Although we can’t watch football, we can still talk about it. United players have, rightly, been getting lauded with applause recently and today, that continues.
This time around, it’s the turn of 24-year-old United star Luke Shaw, who has been praised by Rio Ferdinand for turning his Reds future around.
“He’s been playing well, not at left-back but on the left side of a three as a centre-half and been given a new lease of life.”
“Coming out with the ball he’s always been good at driving forward and he looks accomplished. He’s taken to it like it’s a new home for him.”
Again, that little positional switch given to Shaw by Solskjaer seems to have done the left-back the world of good. He has since been deployed back in his natural position, but suddenly, he’s playing with more confidence and freedom.
Credit where it’s due, I thought it was over for Shaw at United. Instead, he’s silencing the doubters with some stellar performances – no doubt competition from Brandon Williams also helps, too.
Shaw has seemingly put the injury worries behind him and now he can focus solely on playing football. We’re starting to see the talented player we signed five years ago and I’m loving every minute of it. It’s nice to see another former United defender recognise just how brilliant he has been.
Fair play, Luke!
