The Eintracht Frankfurt star has caught the eye of Europe’s biggest sides following his performances this season.
Jovic netted in both legs of the Europa League semi-final against Chelsea to further increase speculation that he will be be a Blues player in the near future.
Football.London reports that the Serbian is only interested in playing Champions League football which means he could be set to leave Frankfurt in the coming months.
The German outfit currently sit sixth in the table, one point behind Borussia Monchengladbach in fourth.
This also rules out Manchester United, who have also been linked with Jovic but finished sixth this season.
Chelsea are still unsure whether they will face a transfer ban in the next two windows as they await confirmation from FIFA.
Should the punishment be revoked or delayed, it looks like the west London outfit will be in pole position to land Jovic this summer.
The highly-rated 21-year-old will not be short of offers in the summer with Real Madrid and Barcelona both linked – but it’s Maurizio Sarri who desperately needs him.
With Eden Hazard expected to leave, Gonzalo Higuain failing to live up to expectations and Olivier Giroud not fancied, Jovic could be the man to lead Chelsea’s charge next term, and beyond.
Jovic’s stock is certainly high around Europe.
But those who have played with him at Frankfurt are also big fans of the young attacker.
“He is the best finisher I ever played with,” Alexander Meier, who played for the German side for 14 years told the Guardian.
“Nobody from our team really knew him when he arrived.
“But in training you could see immediately that he’s just amazing in front of goal.
“He has everything. Heading, shooting, left foot, right foot. Inside the box he knows exactly where the ball will fall down.
“He was so young but already so cool and confident; you could tell he would score many times.”
