The confirmed Man United XI vs LASK is now in, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signalling his intent for this one…
Well, with Manchester United being 5-0 up, you’d imagine that this one will be a case of going through the motions. However, the Baby Faced Assassin has shown respect to LASK Linz, by naming a stronger side than most would have imagined.
Personally, I would have loved to see some youngsters get their opportunities to impress, but perhaps the manager is looking for his fringe players to find some rhythm and play their part before the end of the Europa League.
Anyway, let’s get right into the team news.
Check out the confirmed Man United XI vs LASK in full:
Sergio Romero starts in between the sticks. The Argentine has never let us down and this is a good opportunity for him to get some minutes under the belt.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah plays in a more familiar right-back role, as opposed to the left-back slot he occupied towards the end of the Premier League campaign. Brandon Williams starts over on that flank. Harry Maguire captain’s the side, which seems a strange decision to me. Why risk him? Eric Bailly makes up the back four.
Scott McTominay plays as the holding midfielder. He’ll have Fred and Juan Mata just ahead of him. Expect those guys to create ample opportunities for United tonight.
Odion Ighalo leads the line here, with Daniel James and Jesse Lingard playing off the flanks.
On the bench, there are the likes of Teden Mengi, who we thought we start. James Garner and Tahith Chong are both named as subs, too. We hope that they get some minutes to prove their worth.
Come on lads, let’s get the job done!
