Manchester United’s stars have now been in training for a few weeks, while having their first game under the belts.
In just around an hour’s time, the Red Devils will continue their rivalry with the old enemy; Leeds United…
Although it’s just a pre-season ‘friendly’, I use the term lightly, they’ll be tackles flying in during this one as there is absolutely no love lost between these two sides.
Anyway, ahead of the big match, let’s take a closer look at the confirmed United starting XI.
Sergio Romero will play the first half, and it’ll be good to see the Argentine in action once again. Aaron Wan-Bissaka plays in the right-back slot, while Marcos Rojo starts opposite him over on the left. The back two of Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly is by far and away United’s best (on paper at least).
Scott McTominay has been tasked with sitting in front of the defence as that protector, while allowing Paul Pogba and presumably Juan Mata to get further up the field and create chances.
Marcus Rashford starts in the striker slot. He’ll have the super-talented Mason Greenwood on his right, while Daniel James will play on the left-hand side. Don’t forget, he came so close to signing for Leeds back in January so don’t be surprised to hear a few boos around the stadium when he’s on the ball…
