The 19-year-old centre-back is currently one of the hottest properties in world football.
His impressive physical presence, leadership skills and aerial prowess have seen him touted to join some of Europe’s most prestigious teams.
De Ligt has been linked with mega-money moves to Barcelona, Manchester United, Paris St-Germain and Juve.
And after he recently played for the Netherlands against Portugal, Ronaldo asked the youngster to join him in Turin.
Asked whether Ronaldo told him to join Juventus, De Ligt told Dutch publication NOS: “That could well be true.
“What I answered? I didn’t understand him at first. So I said… no, I didn’t say anything.”
When pressed, De Ligt admitted that Ronaldo had asked him to join the Bianconeri.
“I was a bit shocked, that’s why I laughed,” he added. “But I didn’t say anything.
“Just after the game you just feel bad that you’ve lost, that’s all you’re thinking about.”
De Ligt’s international team-mate Frenki de Jong has reportedly asked the star to follow him to the Nou Camp.
But the in-demand ace has revealed to Mundo Deportivo that he will not be pressured into making a decision by anyone.
“I do not pay attention to anyone,” he said. “I have to choose my own path.”
New reports have suggested that Barcelona have agreed a fee with the Eredivisie champions for their captain.
According to ‘Radio Catalonia’, Barca and Ajax have settled on a price of £66.75m for De Ligt.
Mundo Deportivo claim that Nou Camp chiefs are not prepared to spend more on the defender than they did on Frenkie de Young in January.
