Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finally has his first Manchester United signing. Daniel James has agreed to become a Red Devil, penning a five-year deal at Old Trafford.
The speedy 21-year-old enjoyed excellent spells during a breakthrough season at Swansea City, and after failing to seal a move to Leeds United in January, the 20-time Premier League champions have snuck in and acquired the mega-talented winger.
You can tell that the Baby Faced Assassin is trying to inject a youthful exuberance into a somewhat lifeless dressing room, and James is already displaying the perfect attitude that he has what it takes to succeed here.
Immediately after the deal was announced, James took to Twitter to send a message to the fans and it certainly made for good reading.
All that we want from our players is to see they care. James already looks hungrier than half of the United squad members at the moment and that’s why I wouldn’t bet against him making a huge impression from day one.
Pre-season tour will be his first opportunity to show us all what he can do. Ironically, the second match of United’s Australia trip is against Leeds United. How funny would it be if James makes his debut against a side that he very nearly joined just six months ago?
Anyway, for now, enjoy the tweets below…
