That’s according to Claudio Marchisio who played alongside the France international for four seasons in Turin.
Pogba has been repeatedly linked with a move to Real Madrid during an inconsistent season at old Trafford.
Marchisio says he has “never understood” why his old team-mate left perennial Scudetto winners Juve in the first place.
He believes Pogba could be the missing piece in the puzzle for Juventus who are desperate for Champions League glory.
“Looking at Juventus’ team, I think it lacks a player that can help the team offensively and Pogba would be the ideal player for that,” Marchisio told Tuttosport.
“I never understood his decision to return to Manchester; he had already been there.
“If he wanted to improve, it would have made so much sense for him to move to Spain.”
The World Cup winner has two years left on his contract and United may have looked to cash in on him this summer.
However, his agent Mino Raiola was recently handed a worldwide transfer ban by FIFA.
Raiola has represented Pogba for several years and earned a staggering £41m for brokering the midfielder’s move from the Bianconeri to United in 2016.
Speculation on Pogba’s future intensified further after he was verbally abused by fans following United’s shock 2-0 defeat to Cardiff.
One supporter could be heard telling Pogba to ‘get off Instagram and have some f****** respect’.
But United legend Lou Macari, who played 239 times for the club, blamed Pogba for inciting abuse that rained down on him from the crowd last weekend.
“Oh come on, come on! I haven’t come here today to [see this],” Macari told MUTV.
“If it was somebody else I’d pick on somebody else. Whoever it would be I’d be saying: ‘what are you thinking about?’
“Keep your strip on to start with, who else do you see with a strip off?”
