The Welshman has had a complicated few years in the Spanish capital.
His 2017/18 campaign was interrupted with injuries and he was reduced to a bit-part role last term.
Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s summer exit to Juventus, it was expected that Bale would fill the void.
However, the 29-year-old has struggled to step up to the mark and has registered just eight goals in La Liga.
“Gareth Bale has been linked with Man Utd and Chelsea ”
According to online Spanish news outlet OK Diario, Bale isn’t ready to pack his bags though.
The ex-Tottenham man is keen to prove the doubters wrong and will refuse to leave and has told Madrid bosses he will fight for his place.
According to Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda, United have already firmed up their interest with a bid as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to overhaul his squad.
Real, however, have reportedly been left unimpressed by Ed Woodward’s £60.5m offer.
Inda told El Chiringuito: ”With Gareth Bale there is a small mess because the leadership wants him to stay because the price is ridiculous and the coach wants him to go to all cost.”
He added: “United only offers 70-80 million when after the final of Kiev offered 150 million.
“There is another candidate if the penalty is lifted, which is Chelsea.”
The news comes amid reports of:
Real, meanwhile, remain keen to sign United star Paul Pogba.
Los Blancos were linked with the France international in 2016.
However, a deal failed to materialise and Pogba joined United for a then world-record £90m.
It’s thought the midfielder is keen to link up with his compatriot Zinedine Zidane who returned to the Bernabeu last month.
But despite overtures from the Spanish heavyweights, United have no intention of selling their prized asset.
