Maguire’s transfer to Old Trafford is imminent, according to The Independent, after United’s breakthrough in negotiations.
United will ultimately be paying a world-record fee for a defender, with the fee surpassing the £75m Liverpool forked out to Southampton or Virgil van Dijk in January 2018.
England international Maguire, though, is seen as worth the money and the ideal fit for Solskjaer’s new-look team.

A massive £50m has already been spent on right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, meaning the two defenders will collectively cost £130m.

United are in the middle of their pre-season schedule, having beaten Inter Milan 1-0 in Singapore yesterday.

The Independent say United will pay £80m with around £10m wrapped up in conditional clauses.
