'He offers zero threat' Man Utd fans left unimpressed with 27yo's quiet display vs Norwich

Manchester United Football Club made hard work of it, but in the end, the Red Devils were worthy of their place in the FA Cup’s final four.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rang the changes, probably too many in fact, though United managed to get it done. Now, they have a Wembley semi-final showdown to look forward to.

Amongst those who were given a rare chance to impress was Jesse Lingard. Personally, I still feel the Englishman should be given a chance as a squad/rotational option, though yesterday, Lingard didn’t help himself.

For the most part, he was pretty quiet. I’m happy to give him some room for manoeuvre as it was his first game post-lockdown, though he did look a little casual – coasting through the match at times…

Lingard prides himself on work ethic, run-making and stretching the defence. There were times when he was moving at a snail’s pace, not making those darting bursts forward which have become a staple of his game. That was disappointing.

Who knows, perhaps his head is already elsewhere, why else would he hire Mino Raiola as his agent? Anyway, for the time being, I’ll leave you with several United fans who were unimpressed with the 27-year-old’s quiet outing against Norwich City:
