'He's capable of playing in midfield' Solskjaer states 22yo can play in midfield upon injury return

Well, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now stated that a certain 22-year-old can play in midfield upon his return from injury; Timothy Fosu-Mensah. The Dutchman spent last season on loan at Fulham, until being struck down with a ligament injury which ended his term prematurely while also severely damaging his 2019/20 campaign.

Now, he’s back in training and working towards full fitness, though Solskjaer has admitted he could play Fosu-Mensah in midfield if needed…

“Tim, obviously when he comes back, he’s capable of playing in midfield,” said Solskjaer per ManUtd.com“Yeah, [Andreas has] played a couple of games in there. He’s not let us down in there, so he’s an option.”

Honestly, I now have serious doubts about Fosu-Mensah. He’s a massively talented young man, don’t get me wrong, though he always seems to pick up long-term injuries.

Ever since bursting onto the scene during that stunning few-month spell under Louis van Gaal, Fosu-Mensah has been plagued by time spent on the sidelines.

Now 22, it’s up to the young man to try and put those problems behind him and begin living up to the potential. Obviously, that’s easier said than done, but I guess us fans are beginning to lose patience. He’s definitely in the last chance saloon, that’s for sure…
