The last nine months or so in football have been pretty weird. The last few weeks without it have been particularly tough, though there’s nothing more important than life itself and that’s why postponement is the correct decision.

Upon return of our beautiful game, Manchester United fans are excited to see the return of Paul Pogba. Many can’t wait to see the Pogba/Bruno Fernandes combination in action – albeit for a short period of time due to a winding down contract…

It has been public knowledge that Pogba confirmed his desire to leave Manchester United last summer. We’ve seen little of him on the field, further fuelling the fire about a potential exit.

Well today, the United superstar could make a remarkable U-Turn and sign a new deal, according to Guillem Balague. As the Spanish football expert states, it’s not a good time to leave and United are doing their utmost to convince the World Cup winner to sign a new contract.

“It’s not a good time to leave I don’t think and I believe that they’re going to convince him to stay with a new contract.” Balague said, live on YouTube.

“But we’ll have to see because this is very early in the conversations in that department and as I said he’s playing with all the possible cards.”

Now it’s not all cut and dry, the conversations are in the very early stages, but at least they’re taking place. These discussions would have been completely off the table a month or so ago – and I can’t help but feel Fernandes’ arrival is playing its part.

The question is, is Paul Pogba fully all-in to Manchester United? I still have my doubts about that. There’s just too many burned bridges in my opinion and keeping him here on another long-term contract is either going to go one way or the other – there’s no in-between.

If United can get a decent fee for him and re-invest that money into the squad, I’d urge Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to follow that route and keep clearing out the rot…
