Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof remains a relative unknown. The Ice Man has played some brilliant football over the last twelve months, though there’s always a worry a huge mistake is just around the corner.

His last few performances for the Red Devils have left a lot to be desired. He made a huge mistake against Crystal Palace, in particular, while he was out-jumped for the Southampton leveller just before the international break.

Well it seems as though his poor form has carried over into playing for his country. Last night, Sweden drew 1-1 against Norway, and after the game, Lindelof was surprisingly open and critical about his personal display – lamenting his ‘lousy game’…

“It was a bad match for us. I don’t really know what we are doing, but we aren’t up to the level. Everything was too bad today. The aggressiveness, duels, the passing game. Nothing was right today. We lost two points.” Lindelof told Expressen.

“We have all the conditions to go and control a game like this, but we don’t. I look at myself first and foremost. I had a lousy game today. I’m really disappointed. One of the worst international games I’ve been to. That’s what makes me really angry: we didn’t give ourselves the chance to win here today”.

While you appreciate the openness and honesty, it’s worrying that his poor form is continuing. He’s supposed to kick it up a level this term now that he has an experienced man like Harry Maguire sitting next to him.

The problem is, it seems as though Lindelof is going the other way. Well, he better fix his act up pretty quickly as Axel Tuanzebe is waiting in the wings – and he’s been putting in the work during the international break, waiting patiently for his chance.

Hopefully, we see an improved display from Lindelof against Leicester City at the weekend – though there are easier strikers to play against than the rapid Jamie Vardy…
