Manchester United were comfortably beaten by West Ham United yesterday, in a game in which the Red Devils were further hurt by injuries.
Throughout the fixture, United looked second best. Us fans can take losing, but it’s the manner in which the defeats are coming which is hurting. There’s no fight, desire, or drive to succeed. It all stems down from the board.
Anyway, after the game yesterday, United legend Patrice Evra sent a strong message to the club board, as he seemingly looks to land himself a job at Old Trafford. It certainly feels as though the Frenchman is wanting to help out and return this club back to its former glories.
The ex-United left-back has been at Carrington working on his training badges, and he’ll obviously know his way around the place better than most. For what it’s worth, I reckon the Old Trafford club could do far worse than Evra. He gets it.
This club needs big personalities around the place. Evra is certainly that, but he’d be a positive influence. He has the passion and desire to see United return to the top. If that means taking a backward step to go forward in the longrun then so be it.
Adding Evra would be a strong start, but it’d have to be only the beginning…
