Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof has been linked with a move to FC Barcelona this summer. The latest story we covered came from Mundo Deportivo on June 26th.
The Swede has certainly come a long way from his poor start at Old Trafford. In the 2018/19 campaign, Lindelof was amongst the front-runners to win the United Player of the Year award, which shows just how much of a key player he has been for the Red Devils.
Now, in United’s pre-match press conference, Lindelof has all-but confirmed he intends to stay at United this summer, admitting he’s ‘very happy’ here in Manchester.
“I’m very, very happy to be a Manchester United player,” said Lindelof at the pre-match press conference, per ESPN.
“I’m excited for new season to start. That’s my answer. I’m very happy here.”
This is great news. Lindelof has come out and flatly denied the rumours at the first opportunity which should end all the transfer talk surrounding his future.
Lindelof is an emerging star at United and he has come on leaps and bounds over the last year or so. If that development and growth continues, then we’ll slowly start to see the player that Jose Mourinho spent big to bring to Old Trafford.
He’s now solely focused on playing his football and getting a good pre-season under his belt before the serious stuff starts next month.
Now it’s down to United to go get The Ice Man a top-class centre-back partner…
