Injury News: Man United sweating on fitness of five key players for Leicester game: report

Manchester United Football Club are in a real rut right now. After a convincing opening day victory at home to Chelsea, the results have gone rapidly downhill.

For Ole Gunnar Solskjaer there is much work ahead, although things haven’t been made easier for the Baby Faced Assassin – as he’s dealing with an injury crisis…

According to The Mirror, the United boss is ‘sweating’ on the fitness of five key players for the Leicester City home game this weekend.

Apparently, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial are all struggling with various problems – with all five missing the international break due to one reason or another…

The obvious problem is Pogba. United’s midfield options are threadbare at the best of times, and if we were to lose our only creative spark from the middle of the park for any prolonged period of time we’d be in deep trouble.

Defensively, Wan-Bissaka has a back issue while Shaw is nursing a hamstring problem. I’d feel much more positive about things if one of these guys could make the Leicester game – particularly the former…

Martial has led the line relatively well to start off this season. We’ll need him fit and firing as he’s really are only reliable goal output, while as for Lingard, although he isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, he’s a good option to have off the bench.
