Manchester United Football Club moved up into third place in the Premier League table, though it definitely wasn’t convincing. Two more points were dropped, with Reds fans all calling for one thing after full-time; A Luke Shaw return.
The defender rolled his ankle in a game against Southampton a week or so ago. We haven’t seen him since. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hasn’t shed much light on the severity of the problem, but he did hint that he wasn’t too far away.
Unfortunately, Shaw was nowhere to be seen against West Ham United last night. In stepped Brandon Williams, who I thought actually played pretty well with the ball at his feet. It’s defensively where the teenager struggled at times, but as he fills out, you’d expect those problems to go away.
In the here and now, though, Shaw’s experience and positional awareness could be vital. As the old saying goes, you don’t know what you’ve got until its gone…
Shaw has had rotten luck with injury recently. I’m still remaining hopeful that this is a minor problem as opposed to a major one. We’d love to have him back in the starting XI against Leicester City on the final day as defensively, we’re far more solid with him in the team.
Anyway, we’ve compiled our best fan-reaction as United supporters everywhere were calling for the 25-year-old’s return as soon as possible. Fair play to Shaw, as it wasn’t that long ago when he was thought of as someone who should be sold…
