Jose Mourinho keen on signing 28yo this summer for one key reason: report
Jose Mourinho remains keen on signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan this summer, according to the Daily Mail. The main reason behind his thinking is apparently the fact that he believes United need more pace in between the lines and on the flanks.
Manchester United are concerned that they don’t move possession quickly enough, and the 28-year-old offers something different as he’ll hug the touchline rather than cut inside.
This makes perfect sense to me. For all their attacking talent and creativity, both Anthny Martial and Marcus Rashford are guilty of cutting inside far too often – and I get it, as it is their natural game.
Bringing in the Croatia international just gives Mourinho another option for different types of games, and undoubtedly, it would be a fantastic signing if the Red Devils can somehow push a deal over the line before the transfer window slams shut.
I just doubt that we’ll get this deal done if I’m being completely honest. Perisic’s name has been linked to Manchester United all summer, and with the pulling power that the Old Trafford club possess, I just think that a deal would have already been done.
