Manchester United have never minded giving younger players their chance to shine at the highest level. I guess that’s what makes the Old Trafford club different than most.
For all their faults over the last decade or so, one area they have been strong in is picking their goalkeepers. Another young up-and-comer, Paul Woolston, secured his long-term future in Manchester, as he penned a new deal just yesterday, ManUtd.com confirmed.
Well, yesterday evening, the 21-year-old United shot-stopper took to Twitter to react to that news – and he did so brilliantly with one heartfelt tweet:
This is just great, isn’t it? Twitter is often full of trolls, but when you see stuff like this coming from the heart, sometimes, it’s all worth it.
Obviously, the path in front of Woolston is a long one. David de Gea’s amongst the best in the business while Sergio Romero and Dean Henderson definitely sit higher in the pecking order.
However, I’m a big believer in you can achieve whatever you want in life. Woolston shouldn’t let anything stop him. Every day, he should strive to improve and close that gap. He’s certainly young enough.
Congratulations on your new deal, Paul! Hopefully, we’ll see you on pre-season tour over the summer.
