The transfer saga of Pepe has continued to rumble on this summer with a host of top clubs chasing his signature.
The Ivorian had a brilliant season in Ligue 1, scoring 22 goals and assisting a further 11.
It has led to his name being linked with a multitude of sides as Lille admitted they could not hold onto him.
There have been some big numbers quoted over a potential transfer, as high as £80m – ruling out Arsenal, despite their heavy interest.
But that has not warded off the likes of Liverpool and United who are armed with massive transfer funds.
Liverpool are on the prowl for another attacker to alleviate some of the pressure on their current trio Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
Jurgen Klopp has stated that they are not looking to break the bank this summer but after winning the Champions League, the Reds do not want to stand still.
And for United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to bring back the good times at Old Trafford.

After finishing sixth in the Premier League, the Norwegian has been tasked with bringing the attacking flair back.
And a move for Pepe would be perfect as he continues to build a pacy front line, including Marcus Rashford and Daniel James.
But both sets of fans have been made to sweat on the future of Pepe after Lille president Lopez revealed a cryptic clue over his future.
Lopez told La Voix du Nord: “In terms of departures and arrivals, if a player leaves, we will go and get what we need.
“For Nico, it is almost done and he could have left last summer.
“It is true that there are big offers and big clubs in for him, so I think [he will leave]. Aside from that, you never know in football.”
