James Rodriguez has made plenty of headlines this month with the player struggling for game time on loan at Bayern Munich.
The Colombian’s two-year loan spell from Real Madrid expires with the Bundesliga giants at the end of the season and it remains unclear of his next move.
Rodriguez has started just nine games this season that suggests Bayern are unlikely to take up the option of signing him permanently at the end of the campaign.
Rodriguez is still under contract with Madrid until 2021 but strong claims from website 90min state Madrid are ready to cash in.
According to their sources, Los Blancos have offered the 27-year-old’s services to the Premier League’s top six.
Arsenal and Tottenham have both been linked with the player this month but it appears Madrid are willing to sell to the biggest bidder with Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City all being offered the same opportunity.
Chelsea and United have asked to be kept informed of the situation while Liverpool remain ‘interested’ in the possibility of signing a player of his calibre.
They suggest Rodriguez would be keen to ply his trade in the Premier League following a difficult few months at Bayern.
However, his foster father, Juan Carlos Restrepo, has suggested a return to the European champions could be on in the summer if his performances improve.
“He is comfortable in Munich,” Restrepo told Marca.
“I don’t have news about it, but there may be offers based on those rumours coming from England.”He is calm and he feels that he’s at a good level again and that he’s physically strong.
“That gives us a perspective that he is happy, motivated and working well, as he is eager to achieve new success.
“Real Madrid are one of his loves, but unfortunately he had to look at a different course.
“However, that does not mean that he doesn’t love Los Blancos, an institution that allowed him to enjoy beautiful moments.
“Inside his heart, given that he is a fan of Real Madrid, he will contemplate the possibility of returning.
“Real Madrid own his rights and I imagine that if he has good performances then his return would be possible.”
