With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the wheel, Manchester United have looked simply sublime.
It’s easy to forget the Baby Faced Assassin is only gaffer on an interim basis at the moment, although that could be about to change when the season ends.
According to The Sun, United have already made their decision on their next permanent manager, with Solskjaer set to be handed the job for good – although an announcement will not be made until this campaign is over.
The choice to give Solskjaer the job on a long-term basis has already been made at board level with United sticking to the public mantra that a search is still ongoing.
Presumably, this is to ensure that Solskjaer doesn’t take anything for granted and keeps him on his toes. While nothing is official, it also gives the club the chance to keep their options open – should form dramatically get worse.
Honestly, I’m surprised that any sort of decision has been made already. The season is long and there is still football aplenty to be played. Why the club are in a rush to give Solskjaer the job permanently is beyond me, so let’s just see how this one plays out…
