Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the Far East continued today, with the Red Devils taking on an Inter Milan side managed by Antonio Conte.
The Old Trafford outfit looked excellent throughout, playing a new high-intensity system brought in by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. More than anything, the hunger and desire to win was there and it was wonderful to see.
United’s defensive solidity has been another highlight, with Victor Lindelof continuing to prove why he is the best defender at the club at the moment.
However, on around the 60-minute mark, the Ice Man went down with an apparent injury. Lindelof did try to run it off, but he eventually had to be substituted.
That has left United sweating on the fitness of the 25-year-old just three weeks before the start of the Premier League season.
To me, it did look like a hamstring problem, although Lindelof was seen waving to the fans as he made his way down the tunnel. Hopefully, it was a precaution more than anything because we’re going to need a fully fit Ice Man when Chelsea visit Old Trafford next month.
We’ll bring you more when we get it, presumably, Solskjaer will shed some light on the situation during the post-match interviews.
