Manchester United need midfield help, preferably during the January transfer window. The 20-time Premier League champions are without their two best central players through injury, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer only having three senior, fit, midfielders to choose from.

The name atop everyone’s list seems to be Bruno Fernandes. We covered the latest story in regards to that transfer here. However, Jude Bellingham is a name that’s emerging.

According to The Sun in an exclusive, United have made a £30m bid for the 16-year-old midfielder. Dubbed England’s ‘most exciting talent since Wayne Rooney’, Bellingham has scored four Championship goals this term as he enjoys a stellar breakthrough campaign.

Understandably, interest in Bellingham is set to be fierce. The Sun state, and I quote, Bellingham will be at the centre of a ‘ferocious price war between football’s superpowers’.

Making 25 senior league appearances six months before your seventeenth birthday is mightily impressive – even more so considering how hard-fought Championship football is.

Again, this is a player who fits Solskjaer’s mould. The Baby Faced Assassin is swaying towards signing young, English talents as he looks to build the core of a squad that will last for well over a decade.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are all interested in signing Bellingham, hence why United’s bid seems so steep.

That said, if Solskjaer thinks he’s the right man for the job then so be it. Go out there, get the deal done and show the fans that United have a clear strategy.
