Man United show interest in 28-year-old striker, one of Solskjaer's favourite options: report

Manchester United certainly need to bolster their attacking options this summer. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side struggled when it came to putting the ball in the back of the net at times in 2018/19. The manager will obviously be hoping to change that.

Today, a new name has been linked with a potential Manchester United move. It’s that of Wissam Ben Yedder, with the report coming from La Colina de Nervion, translated excellently via Sport Witness.

Their report states that 20-time Premier League champions are one of the clubs with the ‘most interest’ in the 28-year-old striker, who Reds fans will be familiar with after the Frenchman dumped United out of the Champions League during the 2017/18 season.

Apparently, Ben Yedder is amongst Solskajer’s ‘favourite options’ for the forward position, even moreso if Romelu Lukaku leaves United during this window – which could well be a real possibility...

Should Lukaku leave, United will have no issue when it comes to paying Ben Yedder’s £35million release clause…

I actually quite like Ben Yedder. He knows where the back of the net is and as we learned during that Champions League game a year or so ago, the Frenchman knows exactly where the back of the net is.

Ben Yedder has been brilliant for Sevilla this term, scoring 30 goals and tacking on 11 assists in 54 appearances. For me, he’d be well worth the money, although due to his age you’d probably only get three top-level seasons out of him.
