Man United sweating on fitness of 26-yr-old for Newcastle game as star hit with hamstring issue: report

Yep, that’s right. According to The Metro, the United star suffered a hamstring issue while playing for the Ivory Coast last night.

Apparently, United are sweating on the fitness of the 26-year-old for United’s game against Newcastle following the international break in eight days time.

Just when you think Bailly is over the injury issues, he finds himself back in the treatment room. What’s worse this time is that the problem didn’t even occur while he was with the Red Devils.

After starting against Tottenham Hotspur, and playing poorly I will add, United’s problems at the heart of our defence are already bad enough. The last thing we need is another defensive issue…

Bailly just cannot catch a break. Yes, he was bad against Spurs, though the Ivorian did impress in two Carabao Cup starts. It also wasn’t long ago when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed that the former Sevilla man could be a regular starter for the 20-time Premier League champions.

I’m still unsure on Bailly. He had a stunning debut season at the club but things have gone downhill pretty quickly since.

The issue for United is, the other options aren’t really all that special either. We know Victor Lindelof has a mistake in him, while Axel Tuanzebe has potential, though he himself has been out for a whole year. As for Teden Mengi, who knows how he’ll adapt to playing first-team football? Right now, though, it feels like it’s worth a punt…
