Whether you think he’s the right man or not, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs time to build his Manchester United squad. There are holes aplenty that need filling and the Baby Faced Assassin is in for a busy summer.
Last night, The Sun threw a new name into the Old Trafford ring, as they say that the Red Devils are lining up a move to sign Lyon striker Moussa Dembele.
Apparently, Solskjaer has the ex-Celtic forward on his hitlist as the manager looks to build a younger, hungrier squad going into the 2019/20 campaign.
The Sun also sticks a £40million valuation on the super-talented Frenchman who has scored 14 goals in 31 games, although Dembele only started in 19 of those fixtures.
Reported interest in Dembele further throws Romelu Lukaku’s Manchester United future into doubt, with many fans remaining firm in their stance that the Belgium international is not your typical Reds striker. In that regard, Dembele certainly feels like the far better fit for Solskjaer at this stage.
This feels like a summer where United are strictly targeting youth and I love to see it. This squad needs to be majorly freshened up with talented up-and-comers with a point to prove rather than the ready-made player who wants a big pay-cheque. Dembele is a brilliant footballer and in my opinion, he’d be the perfect alternative to Marcus Rashford.
