Manchester United have long been linked with a move for the Croatia winger with Jose Mourinho previously keen on signing him.
But the rumours linking Perisic with a switch to Old Trafford have resurfaced once again this month.
Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport claim United, along with Atletico Madrid, have sounded out the winger.
However, a deal will only be made possible if Inter sign a player to replace him, with Anthony Martial named as a potential option in the report.
The 29-year-old is under contract with Inter until 2022.
Reports in Italy suggest Inter could be open to selling the player having struggled this season.
In 18 Serie A matches this term Perisic has three goals and two assists to his name.
However, Inter will not let him got on the cheap with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming a replacement will be needed before deciding to sell him on.
In previous summers, Martial was linked with being the player who Inter most admired and would consider swapping Perisic for.
However, that was when Martial was open to leaving Old Trafford following his struggles under Jose Mourinho.
But the Frenchman is now happy at the club and is keen for his agent to secure him a new deal with the Red Devils.
PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn is also on Milan’s radar should Perisic be shown the door.
That could cause further problems for the Red Devils though with interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eager to snap up the 21-year-old.
The Amsterdam-born ace progressed through PSV’s academy and has won two caps for Holland.
Bergwijn only signed a new long-term deal last June that keeps him contracted until 2022.
But The Sun claim PSV bosses are privately resigned to losing him.
