Man Utd been trying to sell 30yo for four of the last five summers as contract winds down: report

Manchester United Football Club are heading in a positive direction under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, that much is obvious.

Credit where it’s due, the Baby Faced Assassin has his team playing some lovely football, while the signings he has made are already leaving their mark. He’s already done both to a higher standard than his predecessor, for my money.

Part of Solskjaer’s job has been ridding of the dead-wood. Again, players have been swiftly removed from the club where he sees fit. No doubt more will follow.

One player whom United seemingly can’t wait to get rid of is Marcos Rojo. In an article about transfers, mainly based on Kalidou Koulibaly, the Manchester Evening News writes that United have actually been trying to sell the 30-year-old for four of the last five summers…

Bear in mind he only made the move to Old Trafford in 2014, by the way… Anyway, Rojo is currently plying his trade for boyhood club Estudiantes over in his homeland as his contract winds down. The question is, will the Argentine be sold this summer, or will the Red Devils allow him to leave for free in just over twelve months time?

Whichever way he leaves, it seems pretty obvious that Rojo is heading towards an exit. What’s also clear to me is that the Argentine isn’t part of Solskjaer’s long-term plans…
