Manchester United Football Club have completed the signing of highly-rated 16-year-old goalkeeper Radek Vitek, from Sigma Olomouc.
The Czech side confirmed the transfer earlier today, with the shot-stopper set to move to Manchester – presumably when this lockdown has been lifted.
Over the last decade or so, United have had their fair share of struggles. However, goalkeeper is a position the Red Devils have been excellent with.
From David de Gea, to Sergio Romero and Dean Henderson, United have had some absolute gems. Vitek joins at a young age, though no doubt he’ll be looking to make his mark.
Upon leaving Sigma Olomouc, Vitek said:
It’s a surreal feeling, a move to Manchester United is the dream of a lot of guys who start playing football,” Vitel told Sigma Olomouc’s official website.
“I’m really looking forward to it. I admit I didn’t even believe it when I found out about the club’s interest, but now it’s definitely a reality.”
Now, it’s about taking his game up another level. That’s easier said than done, and it’ll likely be a couple of years before he’s even sniffing around the first-team, but United can offer him better training, better quality of opponent and higher-class football.
Vitek is no doubt supremely excited to start work at the AON Training Complex. Heck, I can’t wait to see this young man in action. He must be talented as the Reds wouldn’t have signed another player in an area they’re already stacked in otherwise.
Everyone at Old Trafford Faithful welcomes Radek Vitek to Manchester United Football Club!
