To be quite honest, I thought we’d seen the back of this transfer, but here we go… Manchester United have again been linked with a move for Frenchman, Antoine Griezmann.
It’s a story we’ve covered extensively over the summer the last couple of summers, but here we go again…
Griezmann hasn’t impressed during his time in Catalonia, with Barcelona ready to cut their losses.
Sport says that the Nou Camp outfit are in desperate needs of raising funds ahead of the summer transfer window, and they’ll allow Griezmann to leave with United amongst the interested parties.
For me, this ship has sailed. When the rumours started to intensify two years ago, I was all for it. However, we’ve moved past that now and we’re talking about a player whose best days are probably behind him.
Yes, he’s still got the potential to be an absolute game-changer, but honestly, I’d much prefer to see the best part of £100million spent elsewhere. That could probably get James Maddison, or Jack Grealish with plenty of change spare.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is building something at Old Trafford, and the last time United went out and made a marquee signing in the form of Alexis Sanchez, it didn’t work. I’d advise that the Baby Faced Assassin stays away from the temptation and sticks with what he knows.
