Manchester United’s Paul Pogba has been away on international duty this week with France and his performance on Friday night has got fans purring.
Pogba teamed up beautifully with Griezmann to score France’s opener in their 4-1 win over Moldova.
The midfielder chipped a perfectly-weighted ball over the opposition defence allowing the onrushing Griezmann to volley home first time.
And after watching the two link up the Old Trafford faithful are now pleading with the club on Twitter to add another Frenchman to their ranks.
“Pogba x Griezmann,” said one fan.
“Announce Griezmann or I riot,” added a second.
“Pogba and Griezmann partnership is needed at Utd in the summer” said a third.
“Lets get Griezmann to Utd and Premier League, his partnership with Pogba is a beauty to watch,” added a fourth.
Pogba has made plenty of headlines in recent week:
Before United consider who to recruit in the summer they must first quash the mounting speculation that Pogba is haggling for an exit.
The 26-year-old said in midweek that every player’s dream is to represent Real Madrid which has fuelled rumours he wants to join Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu.
It is a major blow to United and their interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has been vital in reinvigorating the midfielder who seemed lost under Jose Mourinho.
His international team-mate is another player potentially looking to force his way out of a major European club.
Griezmann only signed a contract extension with Atletico Madrid last year following rumours over a move to Barcelona.
And it appears those links have reemerged following his side’s exit from the Champions League.
Griezmann is in his fifth season with the Europa League winners, but is looking to further his career having narrowly fallen short on several occasions with Diego Simeone’s side.
United – once they appoint a permanent manager – will no doubt go again in the transfer market this summer and should Griezmann become available it’s hard to believe the Premier League side will not consider the forward.
