The Red Devils are gearing up for their first clash of their tour Down Under.
But it appears even in a meaningless friendly, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can still be given criticism for his selection choices.
The United boss has opted for a blend of youth and experience for the Perth clash.
Sergio Romero starts in goal, with Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial all starting from the outset.
Youngsters such as Andreas Pereira, Axel Tuanxebe and Tahith Chong also will feature from the start.
But two names in the starting XI have not been well received by fans.
Phil Jones and Ashley Young will both play the start of the match.
But supporters took to Twitter to voice their concerns regarding the duo.
“WHY THE F*** IS YOUNG STARTING?” said one.
“Jones and Young…” one tweeted.
“Why does it say Young (C)” one wrote.
“Ashley Young still playing games in pre season and is the captain in 2019,” added a fourth.
“Jones x Young. What a duo… Easy win today,” one sarcastically wrote.
Solskjaer will no doubt take advantage of the friendly to try different players out.
But the United boss admitted this week that he wants more new arrivals brought in in the coming weeks.
“We are still in the market, we want more deals,” he said.
“We don’t have to sell, but we also don’t have to over-pay.
“Looking at our squad now, we have a good squad.
“This squad will have to be more robust once the season gets going.
“Last season we had a run without defeats, but the end was disappointing.”
United’s Perth line up: Romero; Dalot, Tuanzebe, Jones, Young (C); Matic, Pereira, Chong; Lingard, James, Martial.
