Man Utd fans tear into Wayne Rooney for Paul Pogba advice – 'Imagine the OUTRAGE'

Manchester United superstar Pogba is enjoying a fine second half to the season.

The World Cup winner has appeared rejuvenated under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, after a turbulent start to the season with Jose Mourinho.

The Norwegian appears to have reinstilled the ex-Juventus man’s confidence, hinting that he could become captain next season following Antonio Valencia’s departure this summer.

But United all-time record goalscorer Rooney appears to have other ideas for the 26-year-old.

“I’m sure he would be a great signing for anyone”

Rooney, 33, left England for the first time in his career last summer, jetting off to Washington-based DC United.

And it seems he has enjoyed his time stateside so much he is recommending his old United team-mate Pogba join him.

Rooney told Sky Sports: “There’s lots of players who could come over and be very successful here.

“Obviously players I have played with, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, players like that are great players.

“I know Paul Pogba loves coming to the States, his brother is here so I’m sure he would be a great signing for anyone.”

However, United fans haven’t taken too kindly to Rooney’s suggestion, with several suggesting he is far too young to make the move.

One tweeted: “Wayne, I love you, but please do not suggest that Paul Pogba should leave to play in the MLS.

“Can we just imagine the outrage if Pogba actually went to the MLS this summer,” another added.

Rooney’s advice for Pogba comes amid news that:

“Only time Pogba goes to the MLS is when he’s wheel chair,” added a fourth.

And another joked: “Rooney knows Pogba is not good enough and he is MLS material. What a legend.”
