Man Utd fans will love what Harry Maguire said after fourth goal vs Chelsea

United emerged 4-0 victors over Chelsea at Old Trafford after Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Daniel James struck.

Rashford scored the first from a penalty before Martial doubled the lead in the second-half after a lightning-quick counter-attack.

It took United 17 seconds to find the third after a lack of concentration from Chelsea allowed Rashford to net his second of the match.

James then had the dream debut after coming on off the bench to net the fourth to make the scoreline a rout.

With both sides vying for a spot in the top four, it was a good indicator of where both sides are.

And for Maguire, it was a dream debut after an imperious display at the back.

Eyebrows were raised when he made the move to Old Trafford for £80m, becoming the most expensive defender in the world.

But more performances like his yesterday will silence the critics as United fans already fall in love with their new centre-back.

And the Old Trafford faithful will only adore him more after his demand to his team-mates following James’ goal.

Maguire revealed how after the Welshman made it four he told his fellow defenders to not let their concentration slip.

He said: “It’s a great start for myself and the team.

“We rode our luck a bit in the first half but in the second half we were a lot better and I think we thoroughly deserved the three points.

“I was reiterating on the pitch even at 3-0 and 4-0 that we wanted a clean sheet.

“We have to make this place a fortress and a hard place to come and score.”
