The 2021 summer is gearing up to be an all-important one for Manchester United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done some excellent work over the last eighteen months or so, as the Baby Faced Assassin continues to move the Red Devils in a positive direction.
A couple terms ago, United had the chance to get themselves right in amongst it on the back of a second-place Premier League finish. Jose Mourinho wasn’t backed and duly lost his job.
The Old Trafford outfit have a major chance to right those wrongs this Time around. Solskjaer needs another injection of cash to get United competing as the business-end once again.
Well today, a new name has been thrown into the mix. The story comes from the usually-reliable Manchester Evening News.
They state that the right-wing position has been identified as a key transfer area going into this window, with Jadon Sancho the obvious name.
However, United have ‘identified’ talented 19-year-old winger, Thiago Almada, as a possible Sancho alternative. Young Wales duo David Brooks and Rabbi Matando are also amongst the alternatives…
Almada currently plies his trade for Vélez Sarsfield in the Argentine Primera División. The young man has been on the radar of the big clubs for a couple of years now, after being included in The Guardian’s “Next Generation 2018”.
The MEN’s sources in Argentina talk up United’s ‘admiration’ for the teenager, though they make it clear he’d be a back-up target for the Old Trafford club as things stand…
I’m not going to sit here and tell you I’ve seen Almada play, but we have to trust our manager. After all, he’s only made good signings since his arrival and we have to back him until he shows us otherwise.
