Manchester United Football Club could well be preparing for a huge summer. After all, it does feel like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are a lot closer to the top than they were a few months ago…

Signings are needed in a few positions, amongst those is the requirement to acquire another forward-thinking player. Well, a familiar name (from last summer) has been thrown back into the ring; AFC Bournemouth’s David Brooks. The story comes from The Sun on Sunday.

Apparently, United have been placed ‘on alert’, with the Reds (along with Spurs) potentially rekindling their interest in the 22-year-old attacker if he regains fitness.

It’s interesting because Bournemouth are also set to end their ‘spend, spend, spend’ policy and could ‘open the door’ to selling stars like Brooks and Callum Wilson… Largely due to acquiring young talents and failing to make a profit on them.

Enter, United. We covered reported interest in Brooks last summer, with The Sun claiming that United were tracking the Wales international. That was before major injury struck and his stock has likely decreased since.

If the young attacker can get back to that level, make no mistake about it, he’d be a quality addition to any squad in football. He’s got a keen eye for a goal, an excellent range of passing and he definitely fits Solskjaer’s typical mould of players that he looks at.

I’d personally welcome this signing as it could be an astute one.
