Man Utd receive MAJOR injury boosts before Watford clash – but one star set to miss out

And the news comes as a major boost to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after five either skipped duty or returned home during the break.

Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Nemanja Matic, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial have all suffered over the past week.

But only Lukaku is now in danger of sitting out Watford’s visit to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday (3pm).

Rashford, Shaw, Matic and Martial are all likely to be fit and ready for the weekend.

Lukaku, meanwhile, may need more time to recover from a still minor foot issue.

Defenders Eric Bailly, Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian are also poised to return from injury with United’s injury list swiftly shrinking.

Alexis Sanchez does remain sidelined, though, with a knee ligament problem, which is set to keep him out for a further three weeks, however, the £500,000-a-week forward was not expected to return before late April anyway.

But he featured for Ecuador in a 2-0 defeat to USA on Friday and will be available if called upon by Solskjaer this weekend.

Ashley Young, though, has been prioritised at right-back under the Norwegian and is expected to continue there.

The potential absence of Rashford, Martial, Lukaku and Sanchez for the visit of Watford would have left them with NO recognised senior strikers.

Versatile forward Jesse Lingard and 17-year-old Mason Greenwood would have been Solskjaer’s only options.

But Rashford’s quick return mean the England star is expected to lead the line against the Hornets as fifth-placed United aim to chase down Arsenal, two points in front, in the Champions League spots.

United’s expected XI with returning players (4-3-3): De Gea; Shaw, Smalling, Lindelof, Young; Pogba, Matic, Herrera; Martial, Rashford, Mata
