Manchester United Football Club feel like they’re heading in the right direction again. Credit to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for that.
However, there is still work to be done, with a few more players needed to compete at the absolute highest level.
Enter Jack Grealish, who remains constantly linked with a potential Old Trafford switch.
Today’s update in that brewing saga is a positive one that comes from The Sun. They write that United are ‘stepping up’ the pursuit of the 24-year-old star in a £50million move.
The report adds that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a ‘huge fan’ of the Englishman’s ability, despite *that* off-field incident which took place when Grealish was supposed to be in lockdown.
Despite that, United have ‘only heard good things’ about Grealish’s character and what he would bring to Salford Quays. Right now, the Red Devils are favourites for his signature.
What’s most attractive to me is the fact that Grealish is versatile. Not only can he play in-behind the striker, but the Villa man has shown a capability to play from off either flank as well.
It all comes down to transfer fee. Villa would demand around £70m for their prized asset should they stay up, though that figure would be reduced to around £50m if the Midlands outfit were to get relegated. This would be an absolute bargain-signing for United if they could somehow pull it off…
