Man Utd target Jadon Sancho to WIN Ballon D’Or? Fan theory as Gareth Southgate makes claim

That’s according to fans after England manager Gareth Southgate’s revelation.

Sancho has been left out of Southgate’s squad to face Montenegro tonight. 

It comes after an impressive start against Czech Republic last week, picking up an assist. 

The Englishman has excelled with Borussia Dortmund this season. 

Since joining from Manchester City last season the 19-year-old has broken through to score nine goals in this campaign. 

And Sancho has been linked with a big moveto his former team’s city rivals Manchester United

The teenager’s rise has been very fast since opting to turn his back on the Premier League.

But Southgate, who spent three years as the Three Lion’s U21 manager before stepping up to the senior team, revealed his rise has been coming for two years.

In the clip, journalist Gabriel Clarke asks when the England boss believed Sancho was ready. 

And the 48-year-old replies: “At the under-17 World Cup.

“We knew then they had the capability to be top players.”

Sancho was part of the squad that saw off Spain 5-2 in Kolkata, India, two years ago.

The manager went on to reveal why he puts faith in youngsters such as the forward.

“We can’t just wait for players to have played 50 times for their club,” Southgate added.

“A true Ballon D’Or contender for the upcoming years”

“When you have fewer resources and you have to be more creative.

“You have to think differently to solve problems.”

And Southgate’s revelation has left the United faithful making some big claims about transfer target Sancho. 

“Sancho is a prospering player in a position we need,” one supporter said.

Another commented: “Sancho is a smasher.”

Whille a third suggested the 19-year-old would be up for the biggest accolade.

“A true Ballon D’Or contender for the upcoming years,” they said.

And a fourth added: “Future Ballon D’Or, Sancho.”

“Sancho for Ballon D’Or 2019,” a fifth said.

But the Red Devils may need to look for an alternative to the £34million man.
