Just a few days ago, we covered a story from the Evening Standard in which Manchester United’s three main transfer targets were outlined; James Maddison, Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho.
The Manchester Evening News have backed two of those names up, Sancho and Grealish. They’ve switched out James Maddison for youngster Jude Bellingham.
However, what’s interesting about their piece is that they go into more detail about potential outgoings. They deem a United trio as ‘vulnerable’ for transfer as the Reds look to continue their squad overhaul.
Apparently, Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira are all on the chopping block, while United also look to find a buyer for Alexis Sanchez and come to some sort of agreement with AS Roma in regards to Chris Smalling.
Again, this just reiterates Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job. He’s in there to rid out the rot and slowly overhaul this squad. Whether he’s the man to guide us back to major trophies remains to be seen, but you simply cannot underestimate the brilliant work the Baby Faced Assassin is doing right now.
No doubt this latest report will please fans endlessly. Everyone has ran out of patience with the likes of Lingard, Pereira and Jones. Finding buyers for them won’t be particularly easy, mind…
