Man Utd trying to complete deal for superstar 24yo early, club playing hardball over sale: report

Rumours in regards to Jack Grealish’s long-term future were somewhat inevitable. After all, he’s the star player in a team that may well find themselves relegated come May.

Manchester United always get linked to every name under the sun. Speaking of which, the latest story we covered on Grealish came from The Sun, who claimed that the Reds were set to offer the Englishman a chance to triple his wages with a move to Old Trafford. Well today, the Manchester Evening News offered us another update. Apparently, United are trying to complete a deal for the superstar 24-year-old early, amid a potential first call-up to the England squad. Understandably, United don’t want to have to wait until after the European Championships, as competition would only increase and his value would rise.

However, his current club Aston Villa are playing hardball over his potential sale – which also suggests the rumoured £45m release clause in his contract is void.

Make no mistake, this should’ve been expected from Villa. They’re facing a potential financial crisis and they were always going to look to get a huge transfer fee for their key man if they were forced into losing him.

Grealish would be an unbelievable signing for Manchester United. He’s got the swagger, the attitude and most importantly, the skill to make it big at Old Trafford. Put him in a team with Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, phwoar, that’s pretty exciting…
