Man Utd’s first six games for Premier League 2019/20 season – what you need to know

The Red Devils will start their campaign on home soil as the Blues begin life without Eden Hazard.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will then host two games and travel three times in their first six league fixtures.

Their second game is against Wolves, who United failed to beat in three matches last season after one draw and two losses.

Crystal Palace, Southampton, Leicester and West Ham then lie in wait in a kind start for Solskjaer’s team.

United will hope they can start the season strongly as they aim for a return to the Champions League.

The Norwegian will also have to negotiate Europa League group stage fixtures, with dates yet to be decided.

Fans may be concerned about the seventh game, a visit from Arsenal at the end of September.

After a trip to Newcastle, the Red Devils will then welcome rivals Liverpool to Old Trafford in October.

A packed-out December sees Solskjaer’s side host Tottenham a week before travelling to Premier League champions Manchester City.

United’s fixtures come as:

North London awaits United in a New Years Day clash in a huge clash with the Gunners, two weeks before travelling to the Champions League winners at Anfield.

United will then get a winter break in February but the dates are yet to be confirmed – though a trip to Stamford Bridge will be on the cards.

A visit by City and a first trip to Spurs’ new 60,000-seater stadium follow in March before a mid-table run-in to the end of the season.

These fixtures may also be subject to change depending on United’s progress in the Europa League and domestic tournaments.
